“The scruffy surveyor came round to the house and asked me where I wanted the lights and not much else, no niceties, no options. On the way out, he wrote one word on a yellow carbon copy pad (it was a few years ago!). It read ‘Lights £900.00’ in a doctor-like scrawl. He could not wait to get out the door and be somewhere else.”
