EICR
Frequently Asked Questions

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) assesses the safety and condition of electrical systems within a building. It ensures compliance with regulations and protects businesses from potential electrical hazards, insurance claims, and legal issues.

Commercial properties should have an EICR every five years, or sooner if required by insurance policies, or after significant electrical work has been carried out. Get in touch and we can advise on your situation

We offer fixed pricing plans tailored to your business size and needs.

Yes, An Electrical condition installation report (EICR) is the same as a fixed wire test. You may also see it called a Periodic Inspection Report (PIR). Sorry!

This service is for customers who have a current history of compliance. We need the previous certificate test results to ensure minimal differences in the new testing measurements. Without knowing the differences, we can’t be sure that the areas of the site not being tested meet the required standards.

We don’t work on a first-in, first-out basis. We work with clients to test around their time scales and deliver to the timetable. Some clients’ testing is part of their routine pre-planned compliance, whilst others need the report urgently for insurance to remain covered. We know everyone is different, so we are flexible.

An engineer can test between 4-6 circuits per hour. For larger jobs, we usually send two engineers to the site, depending on the size and complexity. As part of the consultation process, we can provide estimates of the testing duration.

We say about ten working days, although again, it depends on the size and complexity of the report. Again, if the report is urgent, we will work to reduce that delivery time for you.

We feel that one size does not fit all. Clients should only pay for what they need as long as they are transparent about what tests they will receive and all the testing complies with the latest 18th edition regulations.

Yes, if the report is unsatisfactory, we will provide you with a competitive quote to make all the repairs. Once all the repairs have been made, we will supply you with new certifications as evidence of compliance.

Only qualified, experienced, and accredited electricians, like our team, can perform EICR inspections. We are registered with NICEIC to ensure we meet industry standards.

EICR reports categorize findings into C1 (danger present, immediate action needed), C2 (potential danger, action needed), C3 (improvement recommended), and FI (further investigation required).

We will provide a clear report identifying the issues and recommended remedial actions. Our team can also offer quotations for necessary repairs to bring your system up to standard.

Many insurers require up-to-date EICR reports as part of their policy conditions. Having a compliant report can lead to better terms or lower premiums.
